Description
Integrate Utah’s history into your reading by using these paired texts about Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloans) and Fremont Indians that are followed by Common Core standards-based questions.
Nowadays, students are required to integrate information from two texts on the same topic in order to write or speak about the subject knowledgeably (R.I.4.9.) Therefore, I created these paired passages so students can learn about Utah’s prehistoric peoples from two different sources. The passages are followed by carefully crafted comprehension questions that target all standards for Reading Informational Texts.
These paired texts come in two versions: Version A – on grade level and above; Version B – below grade level.
Each version consists of:
1. Two texts about the Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloans). Each article is 2 pages long.
2. Two texts about the Fremont people. each article is 2 pages long.
3. standards-based text-dependent questions that thoroughly check students’ comprehension.
Answer key is also included.
